If your goal is to increase muscle size and strength, buying body building products can be quite expensive and If you do not want to spend a lot on muscle building products you should make a
cheap muscle building budget. What can really become costly is the food we need to gain muscle. The variety of foods that are crucial to our muscle gaining results cannot be ignored so we have to spend money on food. However we can find ways to get cheap muscle building foods.
The price of protein has taken a sharp increase over the years. Proteins such as red meats are pretty costly now. What we need to focus on are foods that are rich in protein, carbs and other nutrients. Below you will find some quality but inexpensive cheap muscle building foods.
1. Canned Tuna
Try to look for tuna that is packed in cans with water. Watered tuna is much more rich in protein and the taste is a lot better than the oil kinds. If you require carbohydrates, I suggest you eat the tuna with whole wheat bread as this is a great protein and carbs combo. Avoid the tuna full of mercury. I recommend only consuming one can of tuna per day unless your body building diet requires more.
2. Eggs
Don't go for the omega3 type eggs as they are pretty pricey and should not be on your cheap muscle building foods list. The generic brands are cheaper and have just as much protein than any other eggs. I suggest eating just the egg whites and leave out the yolk but again follow your muscle building program tells you to do.
3. Muscle Protein Drinks
Whey and Casein protein used to be pretty cheap but dairy prices have sky rocketed. You can still use them but there are other cheap muscle building powders out there. The less expensive kinds are those made without milk. Instead try using pea protein or rice protein powders . I would strongly suggest combining these two because they compliment one another. You can find these protein powders in stores or online.
4. Non-meat Proteins
You can find many affordable non animal based proteins that promote great muscle gains. Rice and beans is a great cheap muscle building protein combination. Rice and beans are loaded with protein, carbs and fiber so it is excellent. Also consider using dry beans and not the can varieties because dry beans are cheaper and healthier.
5. Low Price High Quality Chicken
Chicken breasts are a body builder's best friend so to speak. However there is a cost to have people cut, skin and remove the bones out of the chicken. A less expensive route is buying whole chicken. This way you can eat the lean chicken breast and if your trying to build muscle mass you can eat the other parts of the chicken.
Since food costs have continued to rise, muscle building has become quite costly. The best way to help avoid these high costs is to do without the unnecessary items and focus on the foods that are most necessary.
There are many other cheap muscle building foods out there but it is sometimes difficult to find out which ones are inexpensive and beneficial to your muscle gaining results especially if you are a beginner to body building. Many foods out there may be low in cost but can have a negative impact on your results and more importantly your health. If you are new to body building the best way learn what foods to get is by getting a full muscle building guide that will teach you about dieting and other factors of muscle building such as exercises, techniques, supplements and lowering your costs.
